Program Overview
Internship positions are available for a broad range of challenging assignments. Our Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn more about the complex supermarket industry. Internship participants will have the ability to develop the leadership skills and business knowledge they will need to begin their career. This internship experience is an opportunity to work on projects that are meaningful and hands-on. Throughout the summer, interns will work in a team environment designed to promote and reward individuality, innovation, leadership, and strong business results.
Program Details
12-Week paid summer internship Community service opportunities supporting Food Lion Feeds Career development and professional enhancement via learning activities Lunch & Learn sessions with business leaders End of program presentation to business leaders Program Qualifications
Minimum GPA 3.0 is required ***All applicants are expected to provide a copy of their transcript with their resume showing they meet this requirement**** Permanent employment authorization/ US citizenship Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program when applying Required Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization Self-Motivated Team-oriented thinking Excellent organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job Good judgment solving problems and making decisions Ability to take initiative and ask questions, learn quickly and strive for results. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

Ability to work as part of a team Ability to think innovatively Ability to influence without authority Excellent organizational, planning, influence, communication, and presentation skills Self-motivated and persuasive in presenting and selling ideas and executing their implementation Prefer degree with a concentration in Business Management, Retail Management, Supply-Chain Management, or Marketing Learning Objectives:
Fully understand the Food Lion strategy of Easy, Fresh, and Affordable. You Can Count on Food Lion Every Day. Understand the concept of a selling organization, and the role that Category Management plays in bringing our strategy to life in our stores. Become fully versed in Category Management Fundamental Understanding of the 4 P's, and how we execute them to deliver our overall company strategy
