CentraCare Graduate Nurse Residency Program | All Locations

CentraCare is committed to helping new graduate Registered Nurses (RNs) in their transition from student to professional nurse through our Graduate Nurse Residency Program. This program is available for new RNs who have less than 1 year of work experience as an RN and is offered at five-time Magnet-designated St. Cloud Hospital, Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, and our regional hospitals including Paynesville, Melrose, Sauk Centre, and Long Prairie.

Our program is one of the best in the country for new RNs and is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Our year-long program is designed to provide you with additional training, support, and resources needed to transform you into an exceptional professional nurse. New RNs in the program will enhance their skills and knowledge through monthly paid training sessions. These sessions will consist of a variety of activities such as group discussions, simulations, case studies, and a professional development project. Upon accepting a nursing position, you will be automatically enrolled in the program.

Things to know: 

With the completion of this application, you will be considered for all new grad RN positions available throughout CentraCare. We hire and start new grad RNs throughout the year and there is no deadline to apply. While we encourage you to apply up to six months before graduating, you may do so after too.  Shifts and FTEs will vary depending on the unit and be determined at the time of offer. Unit availability may vary with some units requiring additional experience.

Pay & bonus information:

Starting Hourly Pay (pay can increase with prior nursing experience) ADN $36.83 | BSN $37.75 | MSN $38.69   Willmar pay may vary based on union rates    New hires can earn a bonus between $3,500 and $5,000, depending on unit Relocation pay of $5,000 is available to those who qualify CentraCare provides a full benefits package including PTO, medical, dental and more

Here’s what you need to qualify:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required by the time you start (you are welcome to apply before graduation) Minnesota RN License  Less than one year of experience as a Registered Nurse  BSN required within three years of hire when working at St. Cloud Hospital

Relocation assistance requirements: Must accept a position that offers benefits and may not have worked for CentraCare/Carris in the last 9 months. Must currently reside more than 50 miles away from the working location and relocate to within 30 miles of it.
