Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a part-time Central Access Intern for our Bloomington/Normal location.

Responsibilities Assist Access Department in various administrative duties, including, but not limited to: tracking, report building and maintenance, auditing, and data entry.Engage clients in treatment by using motivational interviewing, gauging their readiness to start treatment. Maintain contact with clients on waitlists. Connect clients with our scheduling department. Complete auditing of clinical screenings for treatment. Participate in individual supervision and team meetings for personal and departmental development. Apply feedback appropriately.Present a courteous, respectful, and professional demeanor to clients, visitors, and other staff during normal business operations.Maintain filing systems (both electronic and physical), document in electronic health record, and complete data entry for reports with a high standard of organization and attention to detail. Maintain and monitor email, voicemail, and mailbox. Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness. Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service. Exercise trauma-informed communication and inclusive care.Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and client information.Perform other duties as assigned by leadership within the Access department. Qualifications Unpaid position requiring an individual to be enrolled and working in a certificate program to become a recovery support specialist through an accredited college or working towards an undergraduate degree in the healthcare field. Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent. Requires basic organizational skills and verbal (including phone) and written communication skills.
