Central Distribution Training and Developement Specialist

 

Consults with Central Distribution Management Team to conduct needs assessments and instructional analysis for the business. Designs, develops, delivers and evaluates training programs that meet business needs. Manages large-scope talent development programs and processes, assessing training needs and applying the most effective delivery method.

Responsibilities Consults with management teams to conduct needs assessments and instructional analysis to determine business needs and performance gaps; manages large-scope talent development programs and processes to meet business needs. Proactively identifies issues that impact organizational development, employee effectiveness, and company performance; builds and maintains strong internal partnerships. Designs, develops, delivers and evaluates training programs for organizational development interventions to address identified needs at the individual, team or departmental levels; collaborates with subject matter experts.  Provides training for equipment cleaning/care, inventory control, and material handling functions.  Serves as team lead on large-scope talent development programs; proactively communicates with stakeholders and provides informative updates across multiple, competing projects. Conducts intra- and inter-department Train-the-Trainer programs for a staff of 44 employees; serves as troubleshooting expert for stakeholders post-training on related systems and/or programs.  Provides product knowledge training for products and services provided by the supply chain.  Proactively monitors talent development programs to conduct project evaluation and follow-up activities; collaborates with manager to determine and apply any necessary updates.  Makes suggestions to improve training programs based on training participant feedback; may assist in formulating training policies and procedures to be used across the company. May work directly with business partners to develop, deliver, and/or evaluate training and instructional materials. Develops and maintains computer-based training modules for the LAWSON ERP system including audio, video, graphics, and user interactions; works effectively with the IT department to understand technology standards and deliver workable solutions. Serves as mentor to employees concerning talent development theory and organizational programs and/or processes. Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources or a related field required.

Required and Preferreed Experience:

2+ years of experience in human resources, organizational development or education required. Demonstrable knowledge of adult learning principles and conducting effective instructional classes required. Skill in creating computer-based training programs using Microsoft Office Suite or others required.Three to four years of instructional design experience preferred. Skill in verbal and written communications, including ability to interact effectively with management, peers and associates all levels of the organization. Organizational and project management skills required. Skill with computers and proficiency in Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Word and Excel required.  Some travel required (less than 25).
