Where is the work: This is a Remote position. 

DESCRIPTION:

The Central Team Lead is responsible for working independently under Energy Services Engineering Leader and managing M&V level personnel.  In addition to managing this position will be responsible for up to 50% utilization of their own projects.  Each Central Team M&V Leader will work independently to assist Regions in executing their guarantee portfolios. This role will be involved in mentoring others on the Central Team and Regional teams as needed.  Central Team M&V Leader will assign project work based on capacity and capability needs.  Involved in PACT Projects with guarantees of all complexities (Option A, B, C, D).  Responsible for understanding and correctly applying principles from Option A, B, C and D types of guarantees.  Follows Trane’s Standard Work documents for measurement and verification during the Development, Installation, and Performance Periods of a project.  Will be asked to mentor all levels of M&V Engineers in learning and applying these guarantee types. May be asked to develop and/or review utility baselines and contract Exhibit E language pertaining to the M&V Plan for projects.  May be asked to review energy consumption, utility supply, and facilities operations and maintenance programs to ensure that savings presented in contract are consistent with performance contract contractual obligations and client goals.  Pro-actively identifies new ways to present solutions and sales opportunities in reports.  Assist regions, where asked, in taking necessary actions to limit risk and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

 

INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Works under the direction of National M&V Leader.  Will monitor and lead relationships from the Central M&V Team to the Regional Offices is necessary to provide the external customer the best possible outcome during the guarantee period.  Will lead monthly calls with the Regions to discuss project status during the performance period.  Will lead internal team in all aspects of their work and may be asked to train Regional teams as required.

 

PROFESSIONAL AFFLIATIONS:

The Central M&V Team Lead position may have direct external customer interaction via in-person report and workshop delivery as well as electronic report delivery. Ideally, the Central Team M&V Lead possesses certifications in CEM and CMVP.  May also have other industry training or certifications such as CEA or LEED AP.    

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Ensure customer reports are delivered correctly and on time.  These reports should use templates provided to demonstrate value and proper execution of the agreed upon M&V plan.  Develop M&V workshops to customers (or assist Regions with such task).Assist in Exhibit E PACT Agreement language as required (reviewing or writing).Mentoring other M&V team members as well as Regional engineers as needed.Ensure assigned projects are up to date and complete in Quickbase. Ensure all billable time is properly documented in Quickbase.  Provide any shortfall projections to Leadership as soon as they are identified.  Maintain a positive relationship with Regional personnel during project build and throughout the duration of the guarantee period.Manages internal processes by following standard work documents, that ensure timely collection and accurate data entry of utility bills or other monitored consumption.  Reviews and/or interprets problems or patterns related to utility bills and energy consumption.  As appropriate, solves issues and/or keeps Leadership updated and involved when need for corrective action is identified.Monitors data gathering systems (remote measurement and verification monitoring/ECM, Trane Connect) to track energy consumption during the installation and guarantee phases as required. Participates in transition meetings with Development (XPDEL, XPDE or EE roles) to develop customer baselines as needed. Participates in turnover meetings with Installation team to ensure project scope, timeline, and M&V requirements have been achieved and the start of the performance period is properly documented.Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's degree in engineering, an Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience in the Measurement and Verification field (typically 10 years)Industry certifications such as CEM and CMVP preferred Experience with engineering building-related systems or services in the HVAC industry is required. Formal report writing experience, and excellent written communication skills are required. Possesses solid working knowledge of common computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.).  

 

TRAVEL:

May be asked to travel to Regional offices for coaching sessions where needed and/or deliver Customer workshops/presentations when asked by Regions.Travel up to 20% of time.

 This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive. 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range: $ 120,000 to $155,000

 

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
