GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and executing the educational plan and initiatives for all aspects of education in collaboration with the department manager and the AHN Director of Perioperative Education.  The incumbent will also maintain clinical expertise working hands on with the orientees.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals. (30%)Collaborates with department manager, director of perioperative education and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies. (30%)Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs. (20%)Serves as a consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, professional development. (10%)Participates in the review of department specific policies. (10%)Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

High School/GED

5 years of working in sterile processing departments

Experience related to education design, training and/or implementation

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

Microsoft office (Word and Excel)
