Central Region Director, Adult and Youth Community Services

Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Director, Adult Community Services provides lead oversight for community-based services including but not limited to: the Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation program, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, DM3700, CMHT & OSMI Programs, Forensic Clients and community partnerships. This position also engages in data collection, program evaluation, monitors key performance indicators, clinical development and planning, interdepartmental collaboration and projects as assigned or deemed necessary by the department.

Essential Job Functions:

Functions in accordance with the system’s Operational Guidelines and within his/her professional code of ethics.

Within limits of experience, educational background, and the system’s time commitments, presents in public forums educational material to promote community understanding of mental health and to enhance community response to mental health problems.

Participates in emergency services in order to provide rapid aid in cases of emotional crisis.

Participates in and contributes to the various staff development activities of the system.

Is sensitive and responsible to management needs, such as data collection, program evaluation, development of grant applications, maintenance of various contracts for services, etc.

Participates in all required meetings.

Regularly participates in evaluation of self and assigned staff according to the system’s Operational Guidelines.

Is responsive to all Quality Assurance procedures of the system, cooperates with utilization review procedures, and follows established procedures, rules and regulations of the Clinical Records Department.

Performs other special functions as may, from time to time, be outlined and attached hereto.

Functions as the director of the Adult CPRC program in the assigned region of the system.

Provides direct supervision, guidance, support and oversight of all Adult CPR programs and services

Act in cooperation with the Human Resources Department proactively ensure that effective hiring, evaluation and disciplinary practices with employees are met.

Participate in the ongoing preparation and monitoring of all regional Adult Community Support budgets, zero variance documents and agency financials.

Oversee the development of any new Adult CPR programs.

Consistently review documentation and subsequent reporting to ensure the programs are meeting the clinical and regulatory compliance expectations.

Provide direct leadership and support to ensure agency collaborative service goals for billing are met.

Is sensitive to the needs of the Quality and Compliance team.

Ensure professional relationships between the various internal and external stakeholder groups are optimized to ensure client serve needs are met optimally.

Coordinate annual review of staff job descriptions; including duties, responsibilities and qualifications.

Ensure the department maintains adherence to the system’s Payment Policy.

Oversee the maintenance of accreditation, certifications and fidelity programs of relevant Adult CPR programs.

Periodic evaluation of the employee will be based upon the extent to which the listed principal responsibilities are discharged.  Additional consideration will be given to:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. 

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Shall be able to establish effective relationships via telephone and personal contacts.

Shall be able to follow direction and accept supervision.

Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all team members.

Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.

Maintain confidentiality of business information, including Protected Health Information (PHI), as required by HIPAA and company policy.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Human Services or related field

5 years of relative experience including management experience preferred

Licensure as LPC/LCSW/LMFT/LP preferred

Supervisory Requirements:

Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of services provided.

Employment Requirements:

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect.

Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
