Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a fulltime Central Scheduler to join our team! 

 

Responsibilities

Schedules appointments accuratelyObtains accurate information from physician officeObtains accurate demographic and financial information for patient registrationAccurately informs caller of correct prep for the test being scheduledCoordinates scheduling of special testing requiring anesthesia services, radiologist, pre-admission or other specialty areaProvides ease of access to patients and visitors by having knowledge of hospital layout and identifying them to guestsAssures patient safety by determining if testing is appropriate due to patient’s allergies, implants, claustrophobia, weight or other contraindicationsCommunicate with patients, family, or representative, hospital departments, and physician offices to obtain necessary patient information to ensure accuracyRefers patient or representative to the Financial Counselor as appropriateSchedules testing as ordered -asking clinical staff if question regarding orderDemonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized and function well under stressful conditionsPerforms other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Minimum of a High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree preferredMinimum of two (2) years of scheduling experience in a radiology, cath lab or operating room strongly preferredFamiliarity with patient registration/ access functionsExcellent typing skillsComputer knowledge, skills and proficient in Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of medical terminologyExcellent telephone and customer service skills
