Central Scheduling Supervisor

As the Central Scheduling Supervisor, you will be under the direction of the Manager and/or Director of Patient Access. The Central Scheduling Supervisor plans, supervises and coordinates the daily operations of the Central Scheduling department. The supervisor ensures the department meets their standards for performance and service to patients and resolves all operational issues related to scheduling. Promotes a positive environment in which new ideas are encouraged.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the training and manages expectations of all Central Scheduling employees. Responsible for supervising the service levels/targets of the Central Scheduling team, also responsible for problem-solving to improve performance when targets are not being met. Maintains current knowledge of all Patient Access functions, including Scheduling, Financial Clearance and Registration. Reviews and responds to escalated customer calls. Investigate and resolve complaints, questions and concerns. Facilities regularly schedule team meetings to review performance, share new policies and procedures and keep employees informed of departmental issues. Provides coaching and mentoring to team members to improve operational effectiveness and quality.EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required:
2 years of healthcare experience Strong communication, interpersonal and team-building skills Problem-solving and decision-making skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Ability to flex work scheduled as neededPreferred:
Associates Degree Bilingual English and Spanish Prior supervisory experience Prior to call center experience Full understanding of the revenue cycle Knowledge of medical terminology
