Central Services Technician II
Job Description

 

General Summary

 

Under moderate supervision, the Central Services Technician II is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices. Will take the lead on an O.R. service (Ortho, Neuro, General, ENT, etc.) Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital. Serves as a mentor to Central Services Technician and trainees. Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to Shift Supervisor, Central Services. Functions under moderate supervision. May be assigned to serve as the Central Services Subject Matter Expert in an O.R. service (Neuro, General, ENT, etc.) and will assist with flexible endoscope reprocessing.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalentrequired. 18 months experience as a Central ServicesTechnicianIandcertification from CBSPD or IAHCSMMrequired. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and supplies. Basic knowledge of computers and computer programs required.

Pay Range: $19.72-$23.69Other Compensation (if applicable): Shift Differentials
