+ POSITION SUMMARY: + Under the leadership of the Central Sterile Processing Supervisor, demonstrates competency in identification, decontamination, processing and sterilization of surgical instruments including endoscopy scopes. Has a thorough understanding of processing and sterilization of surgical instruments and endoscopy scopes. Has a thorough understanding of processing equipment, including but not limited to, sterilizers,washer decontaminators, medivators and ultra sonic cleaners following a detailed orientation. + QUALIFICATIONS: + EDUCATION: + Minimum : + High School education or equivalent. + Preferred : + Certification as Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) and/or Certification in Endoscope Reprocessing (CER) + LICENSE: + PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: + Minimum : + Central Sterile Technician certification (CRCST) requirement within 12 months of hire. + Certification in Endoscope Reprocessing (CER)within 24 months of hire. + WORK EXPERIENCE: + Preferred : + Previous experience in sterile processing and/or previous experience processing endoscopy scopes. + SKILLS: + Minimum : + Conscientious regard for technical and minute procedures. + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. + Computer literacy.
