The Sterile Processing Technician functions within sterile processing of nursing to prepare, assemble, process and distribute instruments, equipment and supplies for utilization in the operating room and/or non-operative procedures; this includes appropriate record keeping. The Surgical Tech assists surgeon during operative procedures; ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedures. Qualifications include Central Sterile Certification preferred; 1 year of experience in central sterile preferred; and/or completion of accredited surgical tech training program, surgical tech certification preferred; excellent communication, organization, computer and customer service skills.
