The Centralized Access Team provides excellent patient care and the development of employees’ healthcare skills, including those without previous healthcare experience. The Centralized Patient Access Representative II handles inbound calls and works referrals for our specialty clinics to include MultiCare Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Podiatry, Physiatry, and Neurology clinics // MultiCare Dermatology, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Diabetes Education, Pulmonary, OB/GYN and Sleep Medicine clinics. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional customer service skills and demonstrates efficiency in their work with an emphasis on attention to detail. Reliable attendance and adaptability are key to the success of our team and supporting our patients and clinic partners

Position Summary

The Centralized Patient Access Representative II (CPAR-II) is responsible for assisting new and existing patients with scheduling appointments, facilitating communication with patient care team, and providing information and updates on a wide variety of topics related to their care. Creating an outstanding patient experience is a priority and achieved through your professionalism, empathy, and enthusiasm during patient interactions.

Our CPARs are well-equipped to work in a fast-paced environment to assist patients with navigating their healthcare needs. CPARs use a variety of computer systems and access large volumes of information to complete a variety of complex tasks on behalf of the patients, providers and multiple medical practice locations. Our ideal candidate has a positive attitude, drive to be successful and an overall love for the community. The CPAR II is the second level of a 4-tiered job family typically assigned responsibility to support multiple medical specialty practice locations.

Responsibilities

All CPAR-I FunctionsAssigned additional responsibilities such as a higher volume of clinics, specialty and/or ambulatory procedure scheduling for medical practicesAids callers/patients, to include referral coordination, patient registration and scheduling new and follow-up appointments for multiple medical practice locations according to established protocols for contract and/or specialty clinicsNavigate incoming referrals and ensure we are working to obtain any necessary insurance prior-authorizationInitiate patient outreach as needed based off referral work queuesInterpreter schedulingMay function as a Lead Advocate based on demonstrated skills and abilities in the role

Requirements

High School Diploma or GEDTwo (2) years customer service experience required or 6 months meeting call center metrics in as a CPAR-IPossess proficient computer skills operating multiple systems in a windows-based environmentTwo (2) years office, clerical, or call center experience; in a medical setting preferred.Knowledge of medical terminology, referrals/orders and medical insurance preferredElectronic Medical Record experience; EPIC preferred.Familiarity with data entry and complex scheduling preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $17.87 - $25.72 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
