Summary

Provides essential physics support to Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, contracted facilities, and the Health System, and general radiation safety by devising innovative applications of radiation physics principles.

 

Education

Must have a Ph. D. degree in Radiological Physics, Medical Radiation Physics, or Health Physics. Must have prior training in biological sciences, anatomy, physiology, radiation biology, and radiation dosimetry; and have training in principles of radiation protection and radiation safety.

 

Licensure/Certification

Must be certified by the American Board of Radiology ABR) in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Radiation Oncology Physics.

 

Experience

Three or more years of experience in full service radiation therapy centers or hospitals with a variety of radiation therapy equipment.
