Position Title: Certification Engineer 

Purpose/Role: The Certification Engineer will provide additional capacity to the Certification Team with specific duties related to wireless and cellular certifications.  With upcoming product launches, the volume of telecom certifications will expand significantly.

Key Responsibilities: Manage sustaining telecom certifications with expectations towards handling NPD projects. Duties include assisting Staff Certification Engineer with existing projects; interpreting and applying various radio certification standards (FCC, ISED, EU) to radio equipment to define compliance requirements; modifying and performing pretesting of devices prior to submitting for certification; collaborate with engineering teams to generate technical construction files;  engage with external 3rd party test laboratories and oversee compliance testing to applicable domestic and international standards. Additional growth opportunities could include work on ordinary location certifications, hazardous locations certifications and cyber security. 

Location:  1 Life Way, Pittsburgh, PA.  This position will require test sample set up and testing prior to shipping to third party test labs.  This work cannot be done without proper equipment and collaboration with lab personnel at OLW.  Also, will require close coordination with Staff Certification Engineer for project management and knowledge transfer.
