Certifications and Specifications Specialist Job Description The Certifications & Specifications Specialist will support our team of Certifications Specialists in developing, maintaining, and ensuring third-party compliance of product certification information, including Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO Project, Fair Trade, RSPO, and Paleo. This role involves gathering raw material information from internal and external resources to maintain paperwork for regulatory, third-party, and internal labeling substantiation requirements. The Specialist will collaborate closely with the Labeling & Regulatory Compliance team to support project and business work and may assist with creating ingredient specifications in compliance with internal policies and FSMA requirements. This position also involves working with cross-functional partners to ensure all documentation and information are collected to comply with food safety, regulatory, and labeling requirements. Responsibilities + Support Certifications Specialists in developing and maintaining product certification information. + Gather raw material information from internal and external resources for regulatory and labeling substantiation. + Work closely with the Labeling & Regulatory Compliance team to support project and business work. + Assist in creating ingredient specifications in compliance with internal policies and FSMA requirements. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect necessary documentation and information. + Manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing input on end-to-end timelines of projects. + Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and labeling requirements. Essential Skills + Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Labeling, or a related field. + 1-3 years of certifications and specifications experience (preferred). + Experience writing technical specifications (preferred). + Basic understanding of the product commercialization process from design to manufacturing. + Comfortable working with cross-functional teams. + Good interpersonal and communication skills for effective networking. + Good organizational skills. + Self-directed, motivated, and good time management. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Office 365, and SharePoint. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with USDA and FDA regulatory and labeling documentation. + Ability to prioritize tasks and take action. + Manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Local candidates preferred with hybrid ability to work onsite once a week.
