As an American Sign Language Healthcare Interpreter, you will assist deaf patients, their families, clinical caregivers and professional caregivers by interpreting dialogue from spoken English to American Sign Language, ensuring the coordination of information for issues to be resolved.

Responsibilities:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred.Anatomy and other medical terminology attained through formal coursework or experience required.Certification:
National Interpreter Certified (NIC), Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI), Certificate of Interpretation (CI) or Certificate of Transliteration (CT) certifications through the RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) required.Must possess a valid State Driver’s License and maintain automobile insurance coverage.Must obtain Ohio license within 30 days of start date.Work Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of professional interpreting experience.A minimum of 2 years of ASL experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.Previous knowledge of Deaf Culture preferred, especially as it relates to communication and treatment.Offset: Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience.Physical Requirements:
May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting; manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a PC or mobile device.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
