**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Childbirth Educator demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in providing education programs for the Childbirth Education Department. Each instructor’s knowledge and skills is pertinent to the class(es) she/he is teaching. The Educator works under the supervision of the Childbirth Education Coordinator and the Nurse Manager. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ If relevant, current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
+ Certifications required that are applicable to the classes taught.
+ **Colorado Certified Car Seat Technician required.**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Training and/or experience relevant to class(es) taught.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other team members as well as all internal and external customers.
+ Involves general guidance and direction by the **_Childbirth Education Coordinator and Nurse Manger_** . Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
