Certified CS/SPD Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining surgical tools and hospital equipment. In this role, you will ensure that sterilized tools are properly organized for routine or special surgeries. You will also check equipment for functioning and operation. Your work is an essential component of maintaining organization, coordination and efficiency in the unit.
A caregiver in this position works from 7:00AM - 4:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment. Perform case pull functions. Determine appropriate case carts to be built for specialty procedures. Build case carts ensuring adherence to procedures. Dispatch case carts to ensure availability for surgical/clinical procedures. Perform record keeping, ordering, stocking and inventory control.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) or Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
