Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant Job Description We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves working in Adult Medicine, completing patient intake processes, assisting clinicians with daily care, performing various medical tasks such as taking vital signs, and documenting information in medical records. The medical assistant will also assist clinicians with administrative tasks including faxing and phoning in prescriptions, calling for reports and records, and collecting and relaying lab information. Supervision is provided by clinicians, RNs, and the clinical nursing manager. Responsibilities + Complete the patient intake process. + Assist clinicians with daily patient care. + Perform medical tasks such as taking vital signs and manual blood pressure. + Document information in medical records. + Assist with administrative tasks including faxing and phoning in prescriptions. + Call for reports and records. + Collect and relay lab information. Essential Skills + Certified Medical Assistant with externship in family medicine or pediatrics. + Completion of MA program from an accredited school. + Some MA experience required, not necessarily in pediatrics. + Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). + Certification from one of the following required: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with medical assisting in a pediatric specialty is a plus. + Strong communication and organizational skills. + Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Work Environment This position operates within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that functions primarily as a safety net provider offering multidisciplinary health care services to all individuals, with a special focus on underserved and marginalized populations. The work environment includes exposure to multiple specialties such as adult and pediatric primary care, behavioral health, dental services, diabetes care, infectious disease management, LGBTQ services, Ob/Gyn care, pharmacy services, psychiatry, and social services. The facility is located at 200 Hospital Dr #300, MD, with free parking available on-site. The shift schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with one evening shift from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm.
