Certified Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant assists providers with patient examination, procedures and treatment. 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing basic patient care assistance to the physicians, ensures efficient triaging, records and documents vital signs, patient weight and basic medical history

Assists physician or APRN with procedures, provides instruction and basic education for various ancillary tests and procedures

Performs EKG testing

Maintains general appearance, cleanliness and safety of all patient exam and waiting rooms

Ensure that all exam rooms and patient care areas are stocked

Assists with various front office functions such as filing organizing patient medical records, insurance verification and authorizations, answers phone, monitors and maintains inventory and equipment

Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications -

 Certification & Licensure:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire

• CMA, CCMA, RMA from AMT, NRMA or NRCMA

Education:

• Required High School or Equivalent

Required Experience:

• Preferred Phlebotomy

If you are not a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, NREMT, FL licensed EMT, FL licensed Paramedic or Florida Licensed Practical Nurse, and you are hired for this position, you acknowledge the requirement to obtain your Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA from AMT, NRMA or NRCMA), test within 90 days of employment and pass within 6 months of employment. Failure to obtain certification will result in termination of employment.
