Join our team as a full-time Certified Medical Assistant in our Employee Health and Well-Being Center (EHWC). The position serves as primary clinical and administrative support for the employee health clinician and performs delegated medical assistant tasks under the supervision of the EHWC Nurse Practitioner (NP).

The employee health and well-being center staffing model consists of one full-time medical assistant and full-time nurse practitioner.

The medical assistant’s work assignments consist of 85% administrative (including paper filing and recordkeeping) and 15% clinical responsibilities as delegated.

This position reports directly to the Director of Operations based out of our home office in Baltimore, MD and indirectly to the EHWC Nurse Practitioner at the community location.

Compensation: Starting at $20.00/hour based on experience
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

How you will make an impact

Serve as sole administrative support for the EHWC, supporting the nurse practitioner with daily scheduling, emails, filing, scanning, faxing and phone calls, as well as updating patient medical records (both electronically and in paper format), and a large amount data entry.Prepare employees for examination by the nurse practitioner to include the following: recording vital signs including weight and BMI and preparing a patient (e.g., assisting with placing on a gown or exposing an affected area of the body for examination), and basic first aid.Perform blood draws, fingerstick, urine drug screens, TB testing, and other point-of-care tests including COVID-19, flu, strep, urinalysis, glucose, and/or cholesterol biometric screenings. Administers vaccines as directed by the nurse practitioner.Under the direction of the NP and Dir, Operations, conduct audits of employee medical record including insurances, new employee occupational health charts, sending out reports and following up on outstanding deliverablesEnsure lab compliance and with all required quality assurance measures by recording all required data in lab compliance binder including but not limited to daily temperature log for refrigerators, documentation of all point of care and send out labs performed for each date, performance, and documentation of lab controls for all point of care tests.Communicates with external health care facilities to support the EHWC nurse practitioner with claims management for work-related injuries.Supports the EHWC NP with community outreach to drive elective utilization of the employee health and well-being center, such as attending monthly all-staff meetings, promoting the services we offer through communication and outreach both in-person and over the phone.

What You Will Need

Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA / PHIDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products including experience using Word, Outlook, Excel, and electronic file management (such as SharePoint)Experience in administrative support including filing, scanning, faxing and electronic communication and organization methods, data entryDemonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy, and specimen collection (point-of-care testing, urinalysis) including packaging and transport to laboratories.Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program with externshipCPR BLS (including hands-on) certification is requiredCurrent MA Certification is required. (NRCMA, CCMA, RMA are only accepted)
