Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinic specializing specifically in gastroenterology and hepatology. This position involves rooming patients, taking vitals, handling medication prior authorizations, and answering phone calls. The ideal candidate will play a crucial part for ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic and providing excellent communication skills and passion for patient care.

ResponsibilitiesRooming patients, taking vitals, measuring height and weight, and calculating BMI.Submitting medication prior authorization requests to insurance companies, providing details about the patient's condition and the necessity of the medication.Answering phone calls and managing patient inquiries.Assisting in the gastroenterology and hepatology clinic with day-to-day operations.Essential SkillsCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically Cerner.Previous experience in medical assisting.Knowledge of gastroenterology.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with prior authorizations.Previous experience in a gastroenterology setting is preferred.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a gastroenterology and hepatology clinic within a provider office that includes three other employees: a front desk representative, a surgery scheduler, and a PRN auditor. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. The clinic has two rooms and sees patients throughout the week, with Wednesday being dedicated to completing prior authorizations and paperwork. Offers a small office feel with a close-knit team that works collaboratively.No weekends or holiday work, minimal overtime, free parking, and a safe location. The clinic values teamwork and provides a supportive environment with opportunities for growth, team-building events, and a friendly atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.22 - $25.00/hr.
