Summary

Job Summary:

Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to the healthcare of patients by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department. Incumbents will be utilized in different units within the MAC (Moffitt Ambulatory Center) to ensure quality patient care and appropriate staffing needs are met. Will rotate to different units within the MAC (Moffitt Ambulatory Center) in all assigned outpatient clinics or other designated patient care areas.

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma/GED Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program; or Applicable Military Medical Training; or Students who are actively enrolled in a BSN program, have completed nursing fundamentals and can provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Certification or Registration from one of the following organizations:

American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA-Certified Medical Assistant) American Medical Technologist (RMA Registered Medical Assistant) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA-Nationally Certified Medical Assistant) National Healthcareer Association (CCMA-Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA-Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant) Or, if a current Moffitt Medical Assistant, must receive Certification from one of the above organizations within one year of date of transfer from grandfathered unit.
