Day in the Life of a Certified Medical AssistantObtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Coordinating the daily administrative activities, including scheduling, greeting patients, patient check-in and check-out, recording vital signs and patient medical record maintenance.
Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
If Certified, performing phlebotomy, Preparing and administering medications, injections, vaccines for patients as directed by providers.
Education and Experience requirementsMust have certification from a medical assistant program or military medical corpsman program.
Minimum of one year of experience in a medical setting.
High school diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent.
Understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant practice scope.
Monday-Friday; 4:45am-12:45pm
Saturday; 6:15am-8:15am (on a as needed basis)

Consistent schedule. Early in time and out time, no 12 hour shifts nor is there a 2nd or 3rd shift. You will also never be on call
Small nursing team. Depending on patient census, teams can range anywhere from 2-12
