**Job Type:** Regular **Time Type:** Full time **Work Shift:** Day (United States of America) **FLSA Status:** Exempt **When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.** Under the general supervision of the Director of Radiation Therapy Physics, performs duties involved with treatment planning, customized treatment aids and devices, brachytherapy treatments, quality assurance, and minor equipment / machine maintenance. Takes patient measurements and contours, utilizes computers to perform calculations and generate treatment plans. Performs extensive mathematical calculations. Responsible for maintaining supplies related to duties. **Job Description:** **Essential Duties & Responsibilities** _including but not limited to:_ + Assists therapists with patient simulations and patient immobilization under the direction of the radiation oncologist and radiation physicist to ensure that radiation treatment set-ups are accurate and reproducible. + Develops computerized treatment plans and calculates doses for conformal, IMRT, stereotactic and forward planned patients. + Has knowledge of tissue tolerances and dosing guidelines per standard guidelines for the department and physician. + Knowledge of record and verify system and able to utilize the system for supporting documentation of dosimetry planning, scheduling, patient alerts and charge capture + Has ability to import and associate all treatment plans and treatment fields to appropriate diagnosis and prescription in patient record and verify system for treatment delivery + Communicates necessary information concerning patient set-up, treatment plan, and treatment to physicians and therapists. + Generates patient charges for services rendered to the patient. + Maintains supplies used in treatment planning. Ordering cutout through 3rd party vendor and monitoring the shipping process. QA the cutout upon arrival under the supervision or guidelines of the physicist. + Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles, Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities. + Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies. + Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic. + Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients. + Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities. + Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education. + Participates in radiation dosimetry related education and research activities + Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department. **Minimum Qualifications:** Education: Bachelor of Science degree with 1 year of relevant clinical experience or the equivalent in education and experience required. Graduate of an approved school of dosimetry preferred. Licensure, Certification, Registration: MDCB Certified Medical Dosimetrist preferred. Otherwise certification expected within 2 years of employment. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: + Strong background in science, mathematics or engineering with college-level courses in anatomy & physiology, clinical oncology, atomic & nuclear physics, diagnostic physics, radiation therapy physics, calculus and analytic geometry, linear algebra and vector analysis. + Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of other health care providers. + Must be proactively caring for the patient’s clinical needs, detail oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. **As a health care organization, we have a responsibility to do everything in our power to care for and protect our patients, our colleagues and our communities.
