Certified Medication Aide - Eve
Performs duties as delegated by a licensed nurse. Administers medications to patients as directed and documents the administration to the patient's medical record. May assist with general clerical duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Administers and accurately records the administration of medications for patients as prescribed by the physician. This includes liquid medications, eye drops and ointments, ear drops, and topical medications + Obtains, records and reports patient vital signs as indicate during the administration of medications + Observes records and reports any symptoms and conditions of the patients' that could be related to medication reactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects + Seeks clarification on any medication orders that are unclear, unusual or incomplete + Stores medications in a safe and accurate manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility/client + Adheres to all federal/state regulations regarding the safe storage and handling of medications + Maintains complete and accurate medical records in compliance with the rules and regulation of all regulatory agencies + Routinely inspects, cleans and monitors equipment and supplies to ensure patient safety + Reports all equipment or supply issues to the appropriate site supervisor + Demonstrates awareness of proper infection control practice by using universal precautions + Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and procedures + Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: + High School Diploma or equivalent required + Valid CMA state certification or license if required by state/contract + One (1) one year experience as a medication aide preferred + Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice + Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site + Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements + Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required + Computer proficiency required + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
