SHIFT: NIGHT (3RD)
Your Next Opportunity Awaits you!! Inpatient Oncology unit, includes adult acute-care plus intermediate care (IMU) Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU). Joining the Inpatient Oncology team gives new nurses the opportunity to train in both levels of care and gain deep knowledge of the care for the oncology patient. The nurse to patient ratio for acute oncology is 1:4, while in SCTU it is 1:3 due to the higher level of care for both day shift and night shift. The unit also has a free-floating charge nurse on both shifts. Additional training opportunities for the Inpatient Oncology unit include (but aren’t limited to): oncology core curriculum classes to augment the Nurse Residency Program with oncology specific education, pre-paid online courses through the Oncology Nursing Society (including chemotherapy certification), shadow experiences in several ancillary services throughout hospital, and Stem Cell Transplant/Cellular Therapy training. Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of Medical Center professionals in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in a patient’s home.Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization. Performs basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedure to promote patient health and wellness. Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.Performs administrative support functions. Maintains necessary skills and competencies. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.Position Compensation Range: $15.37 - $23.82 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: No experience required. Relevant experience preferred.
Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
