Working collaboratively with all members of the care team provides world class service to both the patients and staff of Martin’s Point. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and according to defined policies and procedures, the CNA performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs; supports the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, organizes and provides basic nursing care for patients and their families.
Performs and records various duties necessary to provide complete care within established standards, policies, and proceduresProvides onsite care that may include rooming patients, taking vital signs, obtaining a chief complaint; and collecting specimensContributes to the development of the patient plan of care under the direction of the Registered NurseAssists with appropriate outreach efforts to close gaps in careCommunicates patient care information to other health care team members, including changes noted, by verbal report and/or documentation of patient care provided according to policy and procedure guidelinesAssists Registered Nurse with treatment procedures and reinforces selected patient teaching initiated by the Registered NurseAssists in the orientation of other staffMaintains patient and unit area in a clean, orderly, and safe mannerAssists in storing and retrieving equipment and suppliesMay perform other duties as assigned within the CNA's scope of practice.
