**Description** JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Nursing Assistantis responsible forcoordinating and delivering patient careutilizingthe nursing process under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE + Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.  + Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptlyreportsignificant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.  + Assistspatients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge. + Provides care/ treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care including, but not limited to: + Monitoring of vital signs + Measurement of height and weight + Specimen collection + Skin preps/scrubs such aschlorohexidine (CHG) bathing + Catheter care + Capillary blood glucose checks + Simple wound care + Range-of-motion exercises + Draincare + Assistpatients with routine activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing,feedingandassistingwith ambulation as outlined in plan ofcare + Maintains an effective clinical work environment includingbut not limited to cleaning the work area, changing linens,maintainingand monitoringsupply levels, andtransporting patients/specimens throughout hospital. + Ensures competency in all required skills and completes competency assessment annually per the documented competency checklist.Adheres to documented policies and processes as well as performing other related duties as assigned.
