POSITION SUMMARY: Under the Direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the OB Scrub Tech is responsible for providing surgical scrub assistance for all cases performed in the Women’s Services OR, dependent on individual experiences. The OB Tech will support and provide services to the Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, and Newborn Nursery patients as directed by the charge nurse. The OB Tech will be responsible for the establishment / evaluation of the PAR level for supplies in the OR as well as the routine stocking, cleaning & maintenance of instruments for the unit. The OB Tech is responsible for terminally cleaning the OR’s on a daily basis following hospital policy. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Skills + Graduate from an accredited program for Surgical Technology or meets the requirements of the HB 643 Act. Experience + One year prior experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred; + OB surgical technologist experienced preferred Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications + BLS required from an HCA approved vendor + CST certification preferred; Proof of certification must be provided or meets the requirements of the HB 643 Act. If no CST, must attain within 6 months of hire. + New Surgical Technologist graduates must obtain CST within 6 months of graduation. Our 99+ bed hospital offers 30+ specialties.
