Certified Orthotist/Prosthetists

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist to join a compassionate healthcare team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will provide customized orthotic and prosthetic care to help patients regain mobility, functionality, and quality of life. You’ll work closely with patients and other healthcare providers to deliver personalized care that makes a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care: Conduct evaluations to determine each patient's orthotic or prosthetic needs based on diagnoses, anatomy, and personal goals.

Device Design and Fabrication: Design, measure, and fit custom devices, collaborating with technicians and patients to ensure the highest comfort and functionality.

Follow-Up and Adjustments: Provide ongoing care, making adjustments and ensuring long-term patient satisfaction and device efficacy.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create effective treatment plans.

Patient Education: Educate patients and caregivers on device use and maintenance for best outcomes.

Compliance and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of patient care and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Certification: ABC or BOC certification as a Certified Orthotist (CO), Certified Prosthetist (CP), or Certified Orthotist/Prosthetist (CPO) required.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in orthotics and prosthetics preferred; recent graduates with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics or related field required.

Skills: Proficient with orthotic and prosthetic design software and patient measurement and fitting techniques.

Patient-Centered Focus: Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and communicate effectively with patients of all ages.

Compliance Knowledge: Familiar with HIPAA, OSHA, and healthcare regulations.

Preferred Skills

Experience with pediatric or geriatric patient populations.

Familiarity with the latest orthotic and prosthetic technologies, such as microprocessor and myoelectric devices.
