Allied Universal® Technology Services is hiring a Certified Payroll Specialist. The Certified Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of union and contract payroll processing for Allied Universal Technology Services, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll cycles, and maintaining compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations. The Certified Payroll Specialist responds to employee inquiries and addresses all contract and union payroll related issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Processing:Evaluates and submits all Certified Payroll through Company tracking tool to ensure compliance with labor laws and payroll regulationsReview and report hours for the weekly, bi-weekly and union payroll cycles for approximately 1,100 employeesReview, process,submit, and log all payroll adjustments, employee direct deposit changes, tax changes, payroll corrections for hourly employees, and new hire set-up in the payroll system Compliance and Reporting:Supports and resolves labor compliance discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner to avoid penalties for payroll or reporting non-complianceVerify the correct calculation of prevailing wages, overtime, fringe benefits, and other compensation for union workers. Ensure compliance with all wage and hour laws and with internal and external payroll audit requirements.Prepare and promptly submit certified payroll reports to government agencies and clients, showcasing precision and timeliness.Reviews project contract specification documentation to ensure Certified Payroll process conforms to contract requirements.Employee Support:Address employee, subcontractors, venders, project management teams, or project owners inquiries and concerns related to payroll, including pay discrepancies and deductions and assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and disputes, and work to ensure employee satisfaction and accurate reportingProcess Improvement:Identify and suggest enhancements to streamline payroll procedures, assist in implementing process improvements, and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reportsQUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess one of the following:Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study with a minimum of three (3) years of expreience in payroll or compensationHigh school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in payroll or compensationCertified Payroll ExperienceIn-depth knowledge of California prevailing wage laws, DIR requirements and federal payroll regulationsProficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, etc.)Ability to successfully communicate with all levels of the organization, while functioning as a team playerProven ability to maintain correspondence, discussions, and materials with strict discretionPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
SAP experienceAdvanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of studyRelevant Payroll or Compensation certificationsBENEFITS:
