Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with individuals to develop personalized treatment plansMaintain regular communication with referral sources and guardians to discuss progress and clinical mattersParticipate in meetings to ensure continuity of careResearch and refer individuals to outside resources as neededSchedule treatment appointments and provide transportation to Recovery Support ServicesAccompany clients to appointments, representing our agency professionallySupport clients in accessing medical services and maintain accurate documentationOffer crisis intervention and facilitate group education sessionsUtilize peer support to foster recovery and resilience, sharing your own experiences of recovery while maintaining appropriate boundaries

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Must self-identify as a present or former client of mental health and/or substance use services, with one year of direct and personal experience in the mental health system as a primary consumer of servicesHigh school education or equivalentCompletion of a state-approved Certified Peer Support training program within six months of employment The application and the requirements are outlined in “Missouri Peer Specialist” at https://mopeerspecialist.com/.

Additional Qualifications:

Successful completion of background checks, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checksCurrent driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insuranceMinimum of one year of recoveryTwo (2) years of responsible employment history.Ability to offer personal knowledge and experiences of recovery while serving as a source of hope and inspiration for clientsKnowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods, as well as community resources available for individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders
