The Carousel Specialist is responsible for analyzing and setting par levels and ensuring monthly cycle counts for inventory and expiration date tracking. The Carousel Specialist is an integral participant in shortage planning, and has responsibility for managing drug recalls, carousel, autopack, and carousel barcoding equipment. The Carousel specialist assists in training of technicians, evaluating inventory orders and creates purchase requisitions for the Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator. ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Pharmacy automation management– maintaining electronic databases associated with the Carousel, including barcoding equipment 2. New staff training and ongoing education related to Carousel equipment 3. Drug recall management 4. Inventory management: performing cycle counts and monitoring ongoing inventory, working with ancillary departments as needed 5. Medication shortage: preparation for ongoing shortages, active participation in shortage planning 6. Purchasing and Receiving duties, coordinated with Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator 7. Medication labeling and repackaging using barcode technology 8. Perform all duties of a pharmacy technician 9. Other duties as assigned by management **Qualifications** * Graduate of ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician Program with an Associate Degree or 5 years Equivalent Pharmacy Experience * Completion of Carousel management training * Biennial Completion of 20 hours of ACPE-certified, pharmacy technician specific training * TN Board of Pharmacy Technician License. Licensure must be received within 90 days from the first day of employment * National Certification **Pay Range** $18.50 - $25.21 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
