Overview Full-time / 1.0 FTE / 80 hours biweekly Mercyhealth Woodstock Located in Woodstock, IL Proficiency with end of day cash register balancing including troubleshooting discrepancies. Display a thorough understanding of Medicare and Medicaid billing including paper claims and support documentation requirements. Maintains A/R by thorough understanding of PFW including 3rd party billing, reports, retroactive insurance billing, rebilling rejected claims, hard copy claims. Knowledge of PFW pricing schedules. Accept specific areas of responsibility i.e. group homes. Training of new pharmacy technicians. Understanding of inventory control and invoice coding. Call physicians for refill Rx's. Retrieve refill Rx's (with no changes) from tele-manager and phone. Greets customers in a professional manner. Accurately enters sales into the cash register. Assists pharmacist with filling prescriptions. answers and forwards phone messages properly. Restock inventory, Rx supplies. Accurately files Rx's. Accurately processes new and refill prescriptions on PFW. Maintains a clean pharmacy. Deliveries to customers with proper payment collections. Performs other duties as assigned under the direction of the pharmacist. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Take charge of area of responsibility. Accurately and is proficient in the balancing functions of the pharmacy. Accurately and is proficient in all insurance matters. Mixes pharmaceutical preparations, fills bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and types labels for bottles. Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to customer or hospital patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a pharmacy technician program preferred. Three years of retail pharmacy experience Certification and Licensure Pharmacy Technician Licensure required Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Certification through NHA required. Skills and Abilities Computer skills Good interpersonal skills Good interpretive/analytical skills for medication dosage calculations, etc. Special Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to feel, finger, handle, or grasp items for fine motor skills; reach with hands and arms, and talk/ hear. Must be able to crouch or squat to reach items. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Level of Supervision Work is performed according to specific procedures and methods, but the incumbent must make minor decisions in order to adapt to routine situations.
