Certified Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description We are seeking dedicated Pharmacy Technicians to join our team in the EST timezone. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in reviewing Prior Authorizations for coverage determination. You will be responsible for approving or denying requests and sending them to a Pharmacist for final review. This role involves handling all health plans and types of medications, with minimal phone work, primarily outbound calls. Responsibilities + Track coverage determination requests. + Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers. + Approve or deny requests based on criteria and enter decisions into the PBM system. + Notify providers and members of decision outcomes. + Respond to client inquiries and refer requests for specialty drugs. + Contact providers for additional information as needed. + Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls if required. Essential Skills + High School diploma or GED. + Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by the state of operation. + Strong computer skills. + Experience with Prior Authorization processes. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook. + Data entry skills. + Customer service experience. + Registered Pharmacy Technician status. + Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification. + Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance-related processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification. + Experience in retail pharmacy, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings. + Experience in a call center environment. + Experience with Prescription Benefit Management (PBM). Work Environment This is a professional remote environment. You will work with multiple screens and systems, requiring a strong Wi-Fi connection and a dedicated office space with a closed door. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm in your local timezone, with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks and occasional holidays. Training will be from 10am-6:30pm EST. After training, regular shifts are scheduled three months in advance. Equipment, including a computer, monitor, and headset, will be provided. Flexibility is offered based on tenure and performance metrics. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Workplace Type This is a fully remote position.
