Certified Pharmacy Technician I
Overview Primarily day shift of 7:00am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm with one shift 11:00am-7:30pm per work week. Every 4th or 5th weekend from 7:00am-3:30pm This position will primarily be for OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. There will be a chance for travel between all of the sites in the I80 region which include OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru, OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota. Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED Licenses/Certifications: PHTC2 - Pharmacy Tech Certification (tracked by HR) Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification Experience: At least 18 years of age Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 1 year pharmacy Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology Other requirements/information: Demonstrates ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations Intermediate computer skills OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
