Certified RN Anesthetist

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of an Attending Anesthesiologist, the certified registered nurse anesthetist will provide anesthesia services to patients at Emerson Hospital. Daily tasks include review of patients’ medical history, assisting in the selection of type of anesthesia, administering anesthetics, monitoring patient during procedure, and providing immediate post-anesthesia care. Our team of CRNAs will provide patient-centered anesthesia for all types of endoscopy and surgical procedures, including orthopedics, urology, plastics, general surgery, and bariatrics.\

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education Graduation from a program of Nurse Anesthesia education accredited by the National Board on Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or its predecessor. Masters is required. Doctorate highly preferred. MS/DNP/DNAP/PhD. Experience 2 years of experience preferred Licensure and/or Certification State licensure as a registered professional nurse. Compliance with Massachusetts regulatory requirements for APRNs/CRNAs. Certification by the Council on Certification or recertification by the Council on Recertification or their respective predecessors. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required Skills Be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow all protocols. Ability to use technology and equipment to perform role, e.g. electronic medical record, anesthesia machine(s) and other mechanical ventilator devices, physiological monitors. Be highly motivated, independent, and capable of performing in a complex environment. Maintain professional standards as described by AANA for nurse anesthetists. Have cultural competence and compassion for patient population. Ability to maintain confidential information
