Responsibilities:
Performs case pull functions efficiently and accurately.Supports departmental initiatives to meet productivity standards and adapt to flexible staffing needs.Demonstrates proper handling of equipment, instrumentation, and chemicals while adhering to preventative maintenance schedules and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards during the decontamination process.Scans, sorts, and inspects instruments for functionality and cleanliness, assembles instruments according to provided lists, wraps, and labels them following documented procedures.Ensures proper cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and high-level disinfection of reusable instrumentation in accordance with AAMI ST79 standards.Monitors and controls the distribution of supplies and equipment.Performs record-keeping functions within the electronic tracking system, including processing, sterilization, and quality assurance documentation.Participates in in-service education to stay updated on best practices and industry standards.Builds case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatches them to appropriate locations.Upon completing preceptor guidelines, performs preceptor duties and assists in educating non-certified technicians.Performs other duties as assigned.Education:
HS diploma or equivalent GED required.Languages:

A Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) is required and must be maintained.Complexity of Work:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Must possess the ability to multi-task and demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing.Must have the ability to present themselves in a professional manner.Basic computer skills are preferred.Work Experience:
Two - five years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas is required, along with successful completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing.Ability to use the computerized instrument tracking system to perform assigned duties, including obtaining instrument count sheets, special handling instructions for instrumentation, documenting sterilization loads, and other tasks.Military experience,, such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered.Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds.Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
