Reports to: Director Surgical Services

Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.Drag Edit DeleteAssists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.Drag Edit DeletePasses instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.Drag Edit DeleteReceives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
Minimum Education
Graduate of a Surgical Technician Program - Preferred

Certifications:
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Licenses:
Certification is required for experienced surgical technologist upon hire unless qualifications are met under the TCA Section 68-57-102 grandfather clause effective 7/1/2006.
