Primary Duties
Functions as a member of the sterile teamAssists in readying room, opening supplies, performs surgical scrub, sets up back table and prepares anticipated instruments, equipment and suppliesAssists with draping and establishing sterile fieldAnticipates needs and passes instruments, sutures, etc., according to needAssures safe, sterile environment through use of scrupulous aseptic techniqueCompletes Needle and sponge counts with circulating nurseShares on-call rotation with other staff memberScion Health considers a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude to be an essential function of every position.While different positions have different primary areas of responsibility, everyone needs to work as a team, and we expect all employees to roll up their sleeves and pitch in as necessary to get the job done.

Graduate of an accredited courseSurgical Technician Certification (CST) is preferred at time of employment.Certification is required within 6-months of employment.At least 2-3 years of acute care hospital-based operating room experience.At least 2-3 years of experience in Ortho, Neuro, General Surgery, Spine & Robotics.Must have knowledge of principles and procedures related to surgery.Current BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center
