Position Purpose:
Our Wound care nurses use cutting edge technology and clinical knowledge to provide exceptional care to patients who require one-to-one attention and monitoring in their home. Wound care nurses provide care and education regarding the management of ostomies and complex wounds to patients, families, and community health system staff. They will often work in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team of providers. Elements of care include psychosocial and emotional acceptance of altered body image and rehabilitation for patients and families. They will assist in program development, as well as community, physician and staff education. They may also be involved in case management and marketing efforts, and will provide care, consultation, and training to contracted parties. Our nurses follow physician orders and act in compliance with the state's Nurse Practice Act, any applicable licensure/certification requirements and our policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved nursing education program
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
Graduate of a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) accredited school of enterostomal therapy
Ongoing certification in specialty
2-3 years experience as a professional acute care nurse; home care experience preferred.
