The Opportunity
This is your chance to work in a team where you collaborate with experts in the field, working on cutting-edge international projects and developing skills across a wide range of CFD simulations (aerodynamic, thermal, multiphase, smoke dispersion/fire cases, etc.). You will also have the opportunity to participate in internal research and development projects (Invest in Arup), for example, to develop new CFD methodologies and tools.
As a CFD Consultant at Arup, you will:
Get involved and carry out CFD simulations for a wide variety of projects, carrying out multiple activities such as: Participate in the calculation of wind loads acting on components of buildings or infrastructures. Work with wind maps in urban environments. Carry out fire and smoke dispersion simulations by FDS. Support in projects with Microclimates, and thermal and wind-related comfort. Participate in projects in ventilation systems in buildings. Work on projects regarding the dispersion of pollutants or flammable or toxic gas.Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for someone that is interested in developing their skills in the field of modelling with CFD. Ideally, you’ll bring:
Knowledge of OpenFoam CFD software. Knowledge of Pyrosim software and/or FDS simulations. Programming knowledge in Python. Experience in the use of 3D modelling tools (Rhino, Cad3D, etc.). Knowledge about the use of Linux servers. High level of spoken and written English and Spanish.
Bonus points:
Professional experience in the functions mentioned above is not a prerequisite but will be valued. Programming knowledge in C++ is valued.
