Your role and responsibilitiesAs the ABB Way Finance Transformation Program evolves to the new Run model, the Delivery lead will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operational support of SAP Central Finance systems, focusing on incident management, issue resolution, and ensuring the smooth functioning of SAP CFIN environments. This role involves coordinating with technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve incidents efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to financial operations. The CFIN Delivery Lead will also work on continuous improvements, process optimization, and ensuring that incidents and service requests are handled in a timely and effective manner.The work model for the role is: #LI-OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Finance Services business Finance Process Data Systems division in Bangalore, India.You will be mainly accountable for:-\tIncident Management & Resolution: Lead incident management processes for SAP Central Finance, ensuring prompt identification, resolution, and communication of issues related to the CFIN system. Coordinate with CFIN solution architects and IS technical teams to investigate and resolve issues, ensuring timely solutions and minimizing system downtime. Track, prioritize, and escalate incidents based on severity, business impact, and agreed service levels. Ensure that all incidents are properly documented, categorized, and resolved according to established procedures and best practices.-\tOperational Support: Oversee day-to-day operations of SAP CFIN environments, including monitoring system performance, resolving errors, and ensuring data consistency across integrated systems. Work closely with IS teams to ensure the CFIN system is properly configured, optimized, and maintained. Manage system availability and ensure minimal disruption by coordinating proactive maintenance activities and addressing potential issues before they affect business operations.-\tCollaboration & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for all operational issues related to SAP Central Finance and communicate effectively with business stakeholders, ensuring that incidents and service requests are resolved in line with their expectations. Work with IT teams, vendors, and business users to identify root causes of recurring incidents and implement long-term solutions. Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on incident status, resolution progress, and any potential impacts to business processes.-\tRoot Cause Analysis & Problem Management: Lead problem management initiatives, conducting root cause analysis for high-priority or recurring incidents to prevent future occurrences. Collaborate with technical teams to implement permanent fixes or process improvements for recurring issues, ensuring minimal impact to financial operations.-\tContinuous Improvement & Optimization: Continuously assess the performance and efficiency of SAP Central Finance, identifying areas for improvement in both the system and support processes. Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance the incident resolution lifecycle, from detection to closure. Develop and maintain knowledge management resources, including incident resolution documentation and troubleshooting guides, to enable faster issue resolution. Track and report on incident trends, root causes, and resolution times, providing actionable insights to improve the overall support process and system stability.-\tUser Support & Training: Provide end-user support for SAP CFIN issues, troubleshooting problems related to system functionality, data integrity, and reporting. Collaborate with training teams to provide necessary end-user education to help users understand how to avoid common issues and maximize system use.-\tChange Management & System Upgrades: Support change management activities related to SAP CFIN, ensuring that new system enhancements, patches, or updates are applied without disrupting daily operations. Coordinate with technical teams to test and deploy system upgrades, ensuring minimal business disruption and smooth transitions.-\tResource Allocation and Capacity Planning: Manage resource allocation for all CFIN operations and work closely with the demand lead to ensure planning is done on day to day activities and projects. Balance demand & operations with available capacity, proactively identifying resource shortages or surpluses and recommending corrective actions-\tBudgeting and Risk Management: Partner with the FPDS team to manage the CFIN operational budget. Develop and maintain risk management plans for severity tickets, working closely with stakeholders to establish contingency strategies. Regularly review risks and escalate critical issues to senior management, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
Qualifications for the role-\tEducation: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications in SAP S/4HANA, SAP CFIN, or IT architecture would be advantageous.-\tProject Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification is highly desirable. 10+ years of experience in SAP support roles, with at least 5+ years focusing on SAP Central Finance (CFIN) systems or related SAP financial modules (e.g., SAP FICO).-\tProven experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis in a complex SAP environment. Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management) and Service Desk operations.-\tIn-depth knowledge of SAP Central Finance architecture, integration with SAP ECC, MDG and BW. Experience with system monitoring tools and SAP diagnostic tools to identify performance bottlenecks and resolve system issues.-\tStrong understanding of financial processes and data flows in SAP CFIN, including posting, reconciliation, and data transfer across systems. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.-\tProven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams, including functional, technical, and business units. Ability to provide clear incident status updates to senior management and stakeholders.-\tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess situations, identify underlying causes, and implement effective solutions. Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance urgent issues with longer-term system improvements.
