CFO
Description We are in search of a CFO to join our team in the District of Columbia. This role is within the industry and involves overseeing financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters. The CFO will also be responsible for managing and advising on administrative processes and will represent the organization externally when necessary. Responsibilities: • Oversee the overall management of the organization's financial and budgeting processes • Develop and implement long-term financial management strategies and infrastructure systems to support growth • Prepare cost proposals to be submitted with technical or grant proposals • Invoice DoD contracts as necessary, utilizing appropriate payment vehicles as performance benchmarks are achieved • Coordinate all audit activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and FASB requirements • Enhance administrative and operational accounting services such as treasury management, grants payment processing, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, and purchasing • Develop budgets and forecasts in support of all business development opportunities, grants, and contracts • Manage all human resource processes, including recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, separations, benefits management, and more • Design and implement an IT plan to meet the organization's needs as it grows • Manage the organization’s physical infrastructure, physical plant, and system maintenance with the support of the Office Manager • Coordinate and manage publishing of reports, op-eds, event programs, and other collateral materials with the support of the Production Manager Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant financial roles • Proven expertise in Auditing and Budget Processes • Demonstrated experience in Capital Management • Proficiency in Cash Flow Analysis • Experience in Non-profit Accounting and Government Contracts • Knowledge of Human Resources (HR) Administration • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to align financial strategy with business goals • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred • Proficiency in financial software and databases • Ability to handle high-level negotiations and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders • Comprehensive understanding of data privacy standards.
