Description Our client is hiring a small company CFO working with a government agency. Core Responsibilities: Invoicing and Revenue Management + Ensure accurate and timely generation of invoices for services or products provided to the government agency. + Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments. + Reconcile discrepancies in billing or payments with the agency. Budgeting and Financial Planning + Develop and manage annual budgets in compliance with government contract terms and regulations. + Allocate resources effectively to meet both company and agency requirements. + Prepare budget justifications and revisions as needed. Auditing and Compliance + Ensure adherence to government financial policies, such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) or other applicable standards. + Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and resolving findings. + Maintain records for transparency and compliance with government reporting standards. Forecasting and Strategic Planning + Create short- and long-term financial forecasts to guide company decisions and maintain alignment with contract objectives. + Analyze trends, risks, and opportunities to inform future planning. + Advise leadership on financial strategies to optimize profitability and cash flow. Full-Cycle Accounting + Manage all aspects of accounting, including payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliation. + Oversee month-end and year-end close processes. + Prepare financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or other relevant frameworks. Reporting and Communication + Compile and submit periodic financial reports required by the government agency, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Serve as the financial liaison between the company and government agency, addressing queries or concerns. + Present financial performance summaries and updates to company leadership.
