JOB OVERVIEW

 

The Finance Director Mexico (Country CFO) will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of our business in the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring financial integrity, supporting the company’s growth objectives, overseeing tax compliance, transformation initiatives, and custodianship of the company, delivered through a team of ten resources and third-party service providers. This role requires strong business acumen and leadership, solid controlling skills, the ability to structure and manage financial processes and interact with stakeholders and business service centers abroad.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Financial Strategy and Planning: drive business and financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives; lead the annual and rolling budgeting process, including forecasting and financial modeling; analyze market trends, provide solid business partnering to the local team and provide financial insights to support strategic
decision-making. Financial Management: oversee financial operations through collaboration with shared service center provider, including accounting, reporting, treasury, back-office financial services, and compliance; ensure successful transition to BPO model, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting of business unit financials in the market and above; collaborate with global treasury team to manage cash flow. Custodian of Company Assets: act as the custodian of the company’s financial assets, ensuring their security and optimal use; oversee the management and safeguarding of company assets, including inventory, property, and equipment; ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) in close collaboration with regional CFO and group accounting team. Risk Management: develop and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to comply with SoX controls in close collaboration with regional CFO and corporate internal control team. Tax Compliance: ensure compliance with all tax regulations and timely submission of tax returns; keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and ensure the company adapts accordingly. Supply Chain Finance: collaborate with global supply chain finance to guarantee effective cost connection to the local P&L; co-oversee the financial aspects of the supply chain on go to market related matters. Leadership and Team Development: lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development; establish succession and career path opportunities; collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and operational efficiency. Stakeholder Engagement: act as a key liaison between the business unit and the regional finance team; drive, elaborate and communicate financial performance and strategies to internal stakeholders. Business acumen: continue to evolve solid understanding of business context locally in line with global strategic objectives.

Business Intelligence: management of the Power BI environment, ensuring data accuracy and security, design and development of reports and dashboards, gathering requirements from stakeholders, training end-users and monitoring usage.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA is preferred. Experience progressive financial leadership experience, ideally with prior country CFO type roles within the consumer goods or beauty industry. Skills: strong controlling, risk management and financial analysis skills; proven track record leading high-performing teams; exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization. Personal Attributes: strategic thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset; high level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism; strong leadership and organizational skills; ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Fluency in English and Spanish required. Proficiency in SAP, Power BI service, strong understanding of data modeling.
