Job Description:The College of Pharmacy invites applications for the position of tenure-track/non-tenure track Associate/Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Education and Practice.
The College of Pharmacy is seeking a visionary leader for the Department who has experience in leading a team with clinical and educational skills. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and have a proven ability to manage a diverse group of professionals, integrating clinical and educational expertise to foster a collaborative and innovative environment. With a strong background in clinical practice, the candidate will demonstrate hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the field, ensuring that the department remains at the forefront of clinical excellence. In addition to clinical practice, the candidate will have recent teaching experience, showcasing a commitment to education and the ability to engage and inspire students. A track record of scholarly success is essential, with notable achievements in research, publications, and contributions to the academic community. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in collaborating with external groups, such as other health systems, academic medical centers, and related organizations, to enhance the department’s reach and impact. The Chair will be expected to work with the Department in a collaborative, inclusive, and transparent manner to promote overall interests and development of the department faculty, staff, postdocs, and students, and with the Dean and other leadership of the College of Pharmacy to fulfill its research, education, and governance missions.
The department is highly integrative and collaborative, with a strong focus on building around several areas of excellence in clinical practice, didactic and practice-based education, service, and scholarly work. Faculty in the department are dedicated to enhancing clinical practice and education to empower the next generation of pharmacists with essential skills and knowledge. Minimum Requirements:Applicants should have a PharmD or advanced degree in pharmacy (e.g. Masters, PhD).
Preferred Qualifications: Ideal candidates should have a strong track record and commitment to intra-and inter-disciplinary collaboration in clinical practice, education, and service with a commitment and record of cultivating a cohesive and welcoming environment for faculty, staff, and students. They should be a successful and committed mentor of junior faculty and students and be an accomplished educator with experience in professional and post-graduate education and a commitment to transparency and communication. They should have a record of clinical practice experience, teaching, and leadership demonstrating a national impact in the field. Candidates would have a strategic vision and planning expertise and ability to strengthen and expand the Department’s clinical and education vision. Candidates should have an active license in their current state of practice and be eligible for licensure in the State of Florida.
