Summary

The Chair actively engages in, encourages, and fosters development of clinical and health services research and scholar-ly activity through collaboration with Moffitt’s basic, clinical, population and quantitative science research programs. The Chair practices medicine in an exemplary manner and provides mentorship and clinical oversight throughout the Depart-ment. Additional responsibilities include pursuit of appropriate funding mechanisms in support of research activities and representing the Department at the local, state, national, and international levels. The Chair of the Department of Inter-nal and Hospital Medicine reports to the Physician in Chief.

Additional Information

Candidate must have a Florida Medical License or be eligible for one, a M.D., D.O., M.D./Ph.D., or D.O./Ph.D de-gree, and be board certified. Must have a minimum of 7 years experience as a medical practitioner with experience in clinical care, research, and education in an Academic Medical Center setting. Leadership qualities, including strategic vision, are essential.
